Basildon is a static website generator written in PHP. It builds sites from text content files with YAML frontmatter and body content, uses Twig templates for rendering, stores page metadata in SQLite during builds, and can generate HTML as well as PDF output through LaTeX.
This is free and open source software.

- Uses a flexible content directory structure, so page filenames and hierarchy are not prescribed.
- Provides a shortcode system for reusable inline and block content components.
- Lets templates query build data through an SQLite database interface.
- Includes template functions for external data sources such as Wikimedia Commons, Flickr, Wikidata, JSON endpoints, and RSS or Atom feeds.
- Copies assets and non-page files into the output directory, which is ready to upload to a web server.
