Spress is a static site generator built with Symfony components. It is geared towards producing websites from flat files rather than storing content in a database.
Content can be written with Markdown or HTML and combined with Twig templates. Although Spress has particularly strong support for blogs, its templating and plugin architecture also makes it suitable for more general static websites.
This is free and open source software.
