uniread is Spritz like CLI fast reading software.

The application uses Node.js, an open-source, cross-platform, JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser. Node.js lets developers use JavaScript to write command line tools and for server-side scripting.

uniread is released under an open source license.

Key Features

  • Support for the following formats:
    • EPUB.
    • TEXT.
    • PDF (using Mozilla pdf.js library).
  • Supports displaying EPUB chapters.
  • Can be controlled using the keyboard.
  • Displays statistics, like the current reading speed, reading progress (read number of words / total), as well as the estimated time left to finish reading the book.
  • Double time is allocated for a comma and a full stop.
