Notebrew is a static site CMS and blogging platform that combines content management with static site generation.

It can be run as a self-hosted application or as a desktop program, and it’s designed for creating and maintaining blogs and other content-driven websites from a compact single-binary deployment.

This is free and open source software.

  • Runs with a built-in production-ready web server that can automatically handle HTTPS for self-hosted deployments.
  • Supports multiple filesystem backends, including local directory storage, database-backed storage, and SFTP.
  • Offers database-backed full text search and image caption support when using the database filesystem provider.
  • Can enable multi-user accounts by configuring a supported database such as SQLite, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Includes a theme system with import and apply workflows, and downloadable themes are available from the project website.
  • Uses a structured content model for pages, posts, post lists, templates, and static assets.
