MoneyTerm is a terminal-based expense and budget tracker built using Python, Textual and Rich. It helps users organise bank transactions, categorise expenditure and monitor their personal finances through an interactive terminal interface.
Rather than requiring every transaction to be entered manually, MoneyTerm can import QFX and OFX files exported by financial institutions. Imported transactions can then be organised using labels, including rules that automatically recognise payments based on their details.
The application provides transaction tables, spending trends and budgeting tools. Transactions can be examined individually, divided between different spending categories and grouped by account or reporting period.
MoneyTerm is especially useful for people who regularly download statements from their bank and want to analyse their spending without relying on a conventional graphical finance application.
