GrumPHP is a PHP code-quality tool that integrates automated checks into the Git workflow. It examines code before changes are committed, helping developers catch formatting problems, failing tests and violations of project standards.
The software works as a Composer plugin and registers Git hooks when installed as a development dependency. Project rules are defined in a YAML configuration file, so teams can enforce consistent standards without asking every contributor to remember a separate checklist.
GrumPHP can also run checks independently of Git commits, making it useful during development and in continuous integration pipelines.
This is free and open source software.
