khal is a calendar program for the terminal for viewing, adding and editing events and calendars. khal is built on the iCalendar and vdir (allowing the use of vdirsyncer for CalDAV compatibility) standards.
khal offers a set of commands, most importantly list, calendar, interactive, new, printcalendars, printformats, and search. khal does currently not support any default command, i.e., run a command, even though none has been specified. This is intentional.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Read and write events/icalendars to vdir, so vdirsyncer can be used to synchronize calendars with a variety of other programs, for example CalDAV servers.
- Fast and easy to add new events
- ikhal (interactive khal) lets you browse and edit calendars and events
- Works with Python 3.8+
