ioBroker is a modular integration platform for connecting smart home devices, building automation systems and Internet of Things services. Its purpose is to allow equipment from different manufacturers to exchange information and participate in shared automation workflows.
The platform uses adapters to communicate with supported devices, protocols and online services. Information is represented through a common system of objects and states, allowing independently developed adapters to interact without requiring direct communication between every individual device.
Users can configure integrations through a graphical administration interface and create automations using visual tools or programming languages. Some optional adapters and visualisation components have their own licensing requirements.
