Cudy WR11000 Wi-Fi 7 Router Review

Office

The office result matters most for me as this is where I spend most of my working day. This is therefore where the router needs to improve real daily Linux use: package downloads, SSH, file transfers, video calls, Steam downloads, and general browsing. High throughput is useful, but stable ping times are just as important.

Here are test results with the MS-02 Ultra / Cudy.

In the home office, the Cudy WR11000 produced the more convincing result. With the Minisforum MS-02 Ultra connected over 6GHz, it delivered 1.22Gbps with no retransmits, comfortably ahead of the Zyxel’s 926Mbps 5GHz result. The Zyxel had a slightly lower average ping, but the Cudy showed lower peak latency and tighter jitter. From the office, the 285HX workstation maintained an exceptionally stable idle connection to the Cudy router. Across 300 pings there was no packet loss, with an average latency of 2.2 ms and a maximum of only 4.1 ms. The low 0.323 ms deviation shows very little jitter, which is an excellent result for an upstairs office Wi-Fi connection.

For this location, Wi-Fi 7 on the Cudy brings a clear real-world gain.

For the M2, MLO didn’t produce a headline speed breakthrough in the office, but it was competitive with 6GHz-only and gave a much cleaner downlink result. In uplink testing, MLO edged ahead slightly, although the margin was small enough that both modes should be considered broadly comparable. Transfer speeds were around 837Mbps. 5GHz-only was much slower.

The BOSGAME’s Wi-Fi 7’s performance was the least convincing of the test machines. In the office, its 6GHz connection to the Cudy router dropped to -62 dBm, with receive and transmit link rates of 864Mbps and 865Mbps respectively. It could not connect at 320MHz. More concerning was the high retry rate, which suggests the 6GHz link was struggling at this distance. I wouldn’t call the Wi-Fi unusable, but the BOSGAME appears less capable than the Minisforum systems in this location.
