Circada is a terminal-based IRC client. Its design combines aspects of Irssi and WeeChat, providing a familiar chat interface with additional tools for navigating channels and conversations.
The application distinguishes between chat mode and navigation mode. Users can switch between the two using the Escape key, allowing them to move through conversations without interfering with message entry.
Circada includes a channel list, nickname list and configurable windows, making it easier to manage IRC activity across several conversations. It also provides facilities for highlighting important messages and transferring files directly between users.
The application can additionally be compiled as a shared library, allowing developers to reuse its functionality when creating other IRC applications.
This is free and open source software.
