Canutin – personal finance application

Canutin is a personal finance application for tracking money data without relying on a hosted finance platform.

It provides a desktop interface for bringing together financial records and monitoring them over time, with a workflow that’s closer to a private personal ledger than an online budgeting service.

This is free and open source software.

Key Features

  • Consolidates accounts, transactions and assets in one place and tracks them over time.
  • Runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, with data stored locally in a vault file.
  • Requires no sign-up and does not include telemetry or analytics.
  • Supports manual entry of accounts, transactions and assets.
  • Offers API-based importing for users who want to bring in data from other apps or services.
  • Can also be deployed with Docker and accessed through a local browser session.
