Alkitab Bible Study – rich and user friendly tools for Bible study

Alkitab Bible Study is a cross platform, open source Bible software program which sports a rich, intuitive, and user friendly graphical user interface.

The interface supports: parallel views, commentaries, lexicons, dictionaries, glossaries, and daily devotions. It also comes with a powerful search capability. The software is based on the NetBeans Platform and JSword CrossWire library.

Alkitab Bible Study includes the following books: King James Version, StrongsHebrew and StrongsGreek Concordance, Calvin’s Institutes, and Robinson Morphology. It is also compatible with the CrossWire Module Add-ins. Crosswire is one of the largest collections of Christian resources available on the Internet. That collection consists of Bible translations, commentaries, daily devotionals, lexicons, dictionaries, and other resources.

Features include:

  • View Single Book or Bible.
  • View Parallel Books or Bibles: easily compare different bible translation in a single windows.
  • Cross Reference and Search:
    • Use || to join phrases.
    • Using && requires both words.
    • Using a ! removes words from the result.
    • Using ~2 widens the passage by 2 verses either side on any match.
    • Using +[Gen-Exo] at the beginning will restrict a search to that range of verses.
    • Using strong:Hxxx eg: strong:H430 (for Hebrew).
    • Using strong:Gxxx eg: strong:G2424 (for Greek).
  • Commentaries.
  • Strong’s Concordance and Morphology.
  • Lexicons/Dictionaries/Glossaries.
  • Daily Devotions.
