WebSphere Application Server Community Edition V 2.1 is a Java EE 5 server for building and managing Java applications.

It is based on Apache Geronimo, a free software application server developed by the Apache Software Foundation. The software is integrated with best-of-breed open source technology such as Apache Tomcat, Apache Axis2, and Apache MyFaces. It has Eclipse based development tooling which helps to accelerate application development. It’s feature pack for Web 2.0 provides an IBM-supported solution for creating Ajax-based applications and mashups.
