Todoist CLI is an unofficial command-line client for the Todoist task management service. It allows users to work with their Todoist tasks directly from a terminal rather than opening the web application.
The application communicates with Todoist through its API and maintains a local cache of task information. It is particularly useful for users who already rely on Todoist but prefer keyboard-driven commands for routine activities.
Todoist CLI is distinct from the Todoist service itself. The client is released under a free software licence, whereas the underlying Todoist service is proprietary and requires a Todoist account.
