Tailwind CSS – utility-first CSS framework

Tailwind CSS is a utility-first CSS framework packed with classes like flex, pt-4, text-center and rotate-90 that can be composed to build any design, directly in your markup.

The software scans all of your HTML files, JavaScript components, and any other templates for class names, generating the corresponding styles and then writing them to a static CSS file.

Utility classes help you work within the constraints of a system instead of littering your stylesheets with arbitrary values. They make it easy to be consistent with color choices, spacing, typography, shadows, and everything else that makes up a well-engineered design system.

This is free and open source software.

Features include:

• Utility-First Fundamentals – build complex components from a constrained set of primitive utilities.
• Hover, Focus and Other States – utility classes in Tailwind can be applied conditionally by adding modifier to the beginning of the class name that describes the condition you want to target.
• Responsive Design – use responsive utility variants to build adaptive user interfaces.
• Dark Mode – style your site in dark mode. Tailwind includes a dark variant that lets you style your site differently when dark mode is enabled.
• Reusing Styles – encourages a utility-first workflow, where designs are implemented using only low-level utility classes. This is a powerful way to avoid premature abstraction and the pain points that come with it.
• Extensible and customizable – add your own custom styles and extend the framework with plugins.
• Functions and Directives – custom functions and directives Tailwind exposes to your CSS.
