Silverjuke – jukebox for the desktop

Last Updated on August 11, 2021

Summary

There’s aspects we like about Silverjuke. It’s stable, works well, and offers gapless playback. There’s lots of nice touches. And things to make operations easier. But overall it’s not a program we can recommend. This is not directly a criticism of Silverjuke. Instead, the statement is a reflection of the exceptionally strong competition in this area.

There’s so many better open source music players available. Check out our recommended free and open source music players.

If you insist on having a single application capable of playing video and audio, we recommend QMPlay2.

Silverjuke hasn’t seen any development in years only than a few minor commits.
