ncspot – ncurses Spotify client

Summary

We really love ncspot. It’s ubercool and a genuine alternative to Spotify TUI. It’s equally as frugal in the memory department, it’s easier to get up and running, and there’s wonderful cover art support (although you’re restricted to the choice of terminal).

The client is very configurable. Change the keybindings, theme, track formatting, and notifications via a configuration file.

The developer has recently added support for category browsing to library and improved mouse support which are welcome additions.

It’s a shame Spotify’s API does not expose playlist folders, but that’s not a criticism of ncspot.
