ncmpy – curses based Music Player Daemon client

Last Updated on September 1, 2020

Summary

My favorite MPD player I’ve reviewed is the wonderful Cantata. ncmpy lags behind. But if you’re looking for a console based MPD player, both ncmpc and ncmpy are functional and competent.

The software is bereft of documentation, a common failing of open source software with few contributors. ncmpy is under development, so hopefully this will get rectified at some point or other.

If you’re looking for an open source project to contribute to, jump aboard the project and write some documentation, or even some code. I’m sure the developer will appreciate help.
