Memory Consumption
According to the excellent ps_mem memory utility, ncmpy uses about 17MB of RAM. Even taking into account MPD consuming around 19.2 MB of RAM, ncmpy offers an extremely light way of listening to your music collection.
The chart below compares ncmpy with ncmpc and Cantata. Unsurprisingly, Cantata uses more memory than others; it’s a graphical client after all.
