mhWaveEdit – simple and fast sound editor

mhWaveEdit is graphical software for editing, playing and recording sound files.

It offers a good range of features.

Key Features

  • Sample view.
  • Playing with the option to alter the playback speed.
  • Recording.
  • Editing – make selections by dragging the mouse over the sample view. Cut, copy, paste functionality. Crop function deletes all part of the file that are not selected. The silence selection function replaces the selected part with silence.
  • Effects:
    • Fade in/out – creates a linear fade in or fade out effect.
    • Normalize – amplifies the sound without clipping distortion.
    • Volume adjust/fade – select a starting volume and an ending volume and amplifies the selection fading from the starting volume to the ending volume.
    • Covert sample rate.
    • Convert sample format.
    • Byte swap.
    • Mix to mono.
    • Add channel.
    • Map channels.
    • Combine channels.
    • Speed adjustment.
    • Pipe through program.
    • Supports LADSPA effects and can use most of the SoX’s effects.
  • Formats supported: WAV, RAW, and other formats supported by the libsndfile library.
