GitLab is a web-based software development platform that brings source code management and collaborative development tools together. Teams can host Git repositories, review proposed changes, plan development work and automate software delivery from a common interface.
The Community Edition provides a substantial collection of development tools without requiring a commercial subscription. GitLab also offers an Enterprise Edition containing additional proprietary functionality. Organisations can deploy GitLab on their own infrastructure or use GitLab’s hosted service.
