Zeit is a Qt-based graphical frontend for managing scheduled commands on Linux. It provides an interface to two traditional scheduling utilities: crontab for recurring tasks and at for commands that need to execute only once.
The application brings these scheduling mechanisms together, allowing users to manage routine activities and occasional jobs without manually editing crontab files or entering scheduling commands in a terminal. It is particularly useful for people who want to automate straightforward tasks while retaining the familiar scheduling facilities provided by Linux.
Zeit works with the underlying cron and at utilities rather than implementing a separate scheduling service. The relevant services must therefore be installed and configured for scheduled jobs to execute.
