vy is an interactive application for exploring and querying JSON and YAML data.
It combines structured-data navigation with querying, letting you inspect documents without repeatedly constructing commands simply to understand their hierarchy. The interface is keyboard driven and lets you move through nested objects and arrays, focus on a subtree and examine the resulting data in isolation.
vy integrates jaq-based querying, making it possible to experiment with filters while viewing the source data and results within the same application. It is useful for examining configuration files, API responses and other structured datasets where navigating deeply nested content can otherwise become cumbersome.
This is free and open source software.
