R Commander is a graphical interface for performing statistical analysis with R. It is particularly suited to teaching statistics and to users who prefer menus and dialogs over entering commands directly.
The main application window contains menus for statistical procedures and data management, together with script and output areas. Users select variables, configure an analysis and examine the resulting output without needing to memorise the corresponding R commands.
Unlike statistical applications that completely hide their underlying programming environment, R Commander provides access to the R commands used by its graphical operations. This allows users to examine, modify and reuse their analyses, making it a useful introduction to statistical programming.
The interface can be extended through additional R Commander plugins.
