NVUI is a graphical frontend for Neovim that provides a configurable desktop interface using the Qt application framework. Its design focuses on giving users greater control over the visual presentation of the editor while retaining Neovim’s underlying editing functionality.
The application communicates with Neovim through its external user interface protocol. This allows the graphical frontend to manage interface elements such as the command line, completion menus, and editor windows independently of the text editing engine.
NVUI provides several visual enhancements intended to make Neovim feel more like a desktop application. These include animated window transitions, smooth scrolling, cursor animation, and a configurable title bar.
