meme-generator-rs is a meme creation toolkit written in Rust. It combines a graphics engine with a large collection of built-in templates for producing static images and animated GIFs from supplied pictures and text.
The project includes a command-line application, an HTTP server and reusable libraries for Rust, Python and Node.js. Templates can define their own image and text requirements, default captions, shortcuts, tags and configurable options. Additional meme packs can be loaded from shared libraries.
meme-generator-rs also provides tools for editing images and GIFs. Its resource manager can automatically download required images and fonts, verify their integrity and avoid downloading files that are already current.
This is free and open source software.
