Matomo Log Analytics is a command-line importer that turns web server access logs into tracking data understood by Matomo.
It offers a server-side route to web analytics rather than relying exclusively on JavaScript executed in a visitor’s browser. Existing log files can be processed retrospectively, while standard input can be used as part of a pipeline for more immediate ingestion. The tool is particularly useful where administrators already retain detailed access logs and want to analyse those requests using Matomo’s reporting facilities. It can automatically recognise many common formats while still accommodating installations with customised logging layouts.
