tar – create tar archives

Tar is console based software for packaging a set of files as a single archive in tar format. Free and open source software.

Various archive formats can be created, extracted, tested, listed, searched, repacked and compared with patool.

TUI Archiver is a terminal application to list / manage archives. It’s written in Go and published under an open source license.

tarnation is a simple, extensible tar backup/restore utility. It’s free and open source software written in Bash.
