Byte - Music Player

The chart above compares a variety of open source music players from a memory usage perspective. For each program I loaded the same music collection, and performed a set routine of actions.

As you can see, Byte’s memory usage is pretty reasonable. It’s certainly not the leanest, but don’t forget some of the music players listed are console based software.

Byte - Internet Radio

Here’s a comparison of Byte with a variety of internet radio software. Some of the radio software uses an external audio player. Curseradio and PyRadio were tested using mpv for playback. The memory usage including the external audio player is included, so that a fair comparison is made.

Byte’s memory usage compares well with other internet radio software. And don’t forget that Curseradio and PyRadio are console-based software.
