Byte

Byte – music player designed for elementary OS

Internet Radio

One of the real strengths of Byte is its support for internet radio. I’ve reviewed lots of dedicated internet radio players, and have been disappointed by most. Byte’s design and interface is simple, clean, and very polished. A thumbs up from me.

Here’s a video showing some BBC radio stations added, with playback of each stream. It gives a flavour of Byte’s internet radio prowess.

There’s the ability to add, search, and play radio stations. It’s really easy to add new stations as the software accesses the Community Radio Browser API.

A few more features certainly wouldn’t go amiss. For example, the ability to reorder radio stations would be useful, as would being able to import/export a list of radio stations.
