BlueLava is a browser-based interface for controlling X10 home automation equipment. It provides a graphical alternative to command-line X10 utilities, allowing users to operate compatible household devices through a web browser.
The software uses existing X10 control programs as its backend rather than communicating directly with hardware interfaces. This approach allows BlueLava to work with several established X10 utilities, including HEYU and x10d.
BlueLava also provides access through WAP/WML-enabled devices using the teleX10 interface. This reflects its origins when mobile web access was considerably more limited than today. The application is a legacy project, and its original website and supporting technologies are outdated.
