Abaddon is an alternative desktop client for the Discord communication platform. Written in C++ using GTK and gtkmm, it provides a conventional native application rather than packaging a web interface inside a browser-based runtime. The software is primarily developed for Linux, with builds and compilation instructions also available for macOS, Windows, and FreeBSD.
The project communicates with Discord as an unofficial third-party client and attempts to identify itself in a similar manner to Discord’s web client. Its interface can be extensively restyled, while configuration is managed through an INI file. Users should be aware that Discord may incorrectly flag accounts using third-party clients as spam or compromised.
