TOIlet, short for The Other Implementation of figLET, is a command-line application for generating large decorative text banners. It extends the ideas popularised by FIGlet with additional support for colour and character transformations.
The program converts ordinary text into patterns made from smaller characters. Its output can be used for terminal headings, decorative messages and other situations where large character-based lettering is desirable.
TOIlet uses the libcaca graphics library to support coloured character output. Its rendering filters provide alternative visual styles, allowing generated banners to appear different from conventional monochrome FIGlet text.
The application is particularly useful for users who want to produce colourful terminal lettering without manually editing ASCII artwork. It remains closely related to FIGlet while providing its own rendering facilities.
This is free and open source software.
