Marathon: Aleph One – continuation of Bungie’s Marathon 2 game engine

Marathon: Aleph One is an open-source descendant of Bungie’s Marathon 2 first-person 3D shooting game.

This game is set in a Sci-Fi universe dominated by deviant computer AIs and features a well thought-out plot.

Aleph One plays Marathon 2, Infinity, and 3rd-party content on a wide array of platforms.

Features include:

  • Heavily updated graphics.
  • Internet play.
  • Lua scripting.
  • Excellent multiplayer gaming.
  • Additional gametypes:
    • Defense.
    • Capture the Flag.
    • Rugby.
  • The most popular Aleph One scenarios are, of course, the original Marathon games developed by Bungie:
    • Marathon.
    • Marathon 2: Durandal.
    • Marathon Infinity.
  • Software and OpenGL renders.
