TerriaMap – build and deploy geospatial data explorers

TerriaMap is a complete web application for building and deploying geospatial data explorers. It uses the TerriaJS platform to provide a full 3D globe through Cesium and WebGL, with a 2D Leaflet mode for systems that cannot run the 3D viewer.

The software is designed for publishing large catalogues of spatial information. Users can enable several datasets at once, combine them into map mashups, explore time-dependent data and add compatible files directly from their computer. Catalogues can contain tens of thousands of layers drawn from files, web services and open data platforms.

TerriaMap provides the website structure, server and build system required for a TerriaJS deployment. Most processing takes place in the browser, while the accompanying Node.js server can proxy services that lack CORS support or require authentication.

This is free and open source software.

• Generates reusable URLs for sharing the current map view and selected datasets.

• Can be customised through configuration and initialisation files.
• Supports static-site, Docker and AWS deployment workflows.
