Spaced Linux is a desktop Linux distribution built on Devuan. It combines the traditional MATE desktop with Compiz as its primary window manager and compositor, aiming to offer a familiar desktop environment while retaining extensive scope for configuration.
The distribution is systemd-free and uses sysvinit. Its desktop adopts a conventional layout with the Brisk Menu, window list, notification area, clock and familiar desktop controls. Compiz is a fundamental part of the experience rather than an optional extra, handling window management, compositing, workspaces, effects, window rules and accessibility features.
