pychemqt is a graphical application for calculations and the design of unit operations in chemical engineering. Its scope extends considerably beyond a collection of isolated engineering calculators: users can define process streams, construct flow diagrams and model equipment while drawing on an extensive collection of thermodynamic and physical-property methods.
The software is written in Python with a Qt interface. NumPy, SciPy and Matplotlib provide much of its numerical and plotting foundation, while additional scientific libraries can extend its property calculations and data interchange capabilities.
This is free and open source software.
