A metadata editor is computer software which allows users to view and edit metadata tags interactively and save them in the graphics file. So, metadata is information that is part of the image file and contains information about the image itself and the creation of the image. It can set textual information such as title, description, exposure time, ISO value, focal length, and copyright. Some modern digital cameras and camera phones are GPS enabled and they can save the location co-ordinates (latitude and longitude) with the photographs. Metadata editors can also set geolocation information by browsing a map or setting coordinates directly, which is particularly useful for cameras without GPS. There are many reasons why users might wish to modify metadata of photographs.
This “metadata” is embedded into photographs using the standard Exif format that can easily be read by image editing programs as well as online photo sharing websites like Flickr.

Ever come across a good editor or metadata handler with a deep understanding of the fields used across the Stable Diffusion universe? Standardization is poor and most utilities in this space understand whatever inferencer their author is using and little else. I’m tempted to vibecode a “Tower of Babel” that can either convert across the datatypes or else rewrite the metadata into one of the more common formats (such as ComfyUI’s).
You might want to look at MetaMan. Its stated aim is very close to what you’re describing: it uses a universal metadata representation and converts between formats used by Automatic1111, ComfyUI, Civitai, Forge, Tensor.Art and others, including generating a ComfyUI workflow from other metadata formats.
It’s very small and fairly immature project though.
Image MetaHub is more developed and understands metadata produced by a much wider range of generators, including A1111, ComfyUI, InvokeAI, Forge, SD.Next, Fooocus and SwarmUI. It isn’t the universal metadata translator you’re describing, but there seems to be quite a bit of overlap.
So there are attempts at solving the problem, but I don’t think the “Tower of Babel” problem has been solved.
