Mongoku provides an interface for exploring MongoDB databases from a web browser. It is intended for developers and database administrators who want to examine collections and query documents without switching to a dedicated desktop client.
It can be used locally or hosted for shared access. The interface provides document navigation and query controls intended to remain responsive when dealing with large collections. Its document-mapping facility makes it possible to move between records that reference one another.
For shared installations, administrators can configure authentication, read-only operation and database visibility. Connections and selected behaviour are controlled through runtime configuration, making it possible to integrate Mongoku with existing infrastructure. Restricting access remains important because the application exposes database data and potentially sensitive operations.
This is free and open source software.
