MetaLIMS is a simple Laboratory Information Management System for small metagenomic labs.
MetaLIMS is capable of storing sample meta-data for sample collection and downstream processing. It is unique in that it is not specific to NGS sequencing pipelines or analysis, but rather is a LIMS to be used for small labs that collect data prior to sending it out to other labs for sequencing.
Users can store and retrieve data for sample collection, DNA/RNA extraction, and custom fields specific to your own lab (this latter accomplish by an admin creating these fields). MetaLIMS can also record information for read submission to public databases as well as recording and creating a sample sheet for downstream processing in sequencing pipeline.
MetaLIMS is free and open source software.
