MailCrypt – Emacs Lisp package

Mailcrypt is an Emacs Lisp package which provides a simple interface to public key cryptography with PGP and GnuPG.

It can be used to sign and encrypt mail, to sign Usenet articles, and to verify/decrypt mail and articles.

Although Mailcrypt may be used to process data in arbitrary Emacs buffers, it is most useful in conjunction with other Emacs packages for handling mail and news. Mailcrypt has specialized support for Rmail, VM, MH-E, and Gnus.

Features for PGP 5.0 and GnuPG:

• Key fetching/snarfing functionality for PGP 5.0.
• Messages from PGP 5.0 operations now resemble more closely the messages generated for version 2.6.
• Encryption.
• Mixmaster and Cypherpunk remailers can be used in PGP 5.0 mode, if the user has an RSA key.
