Komikku – manga reader for GNOME

Summary

While Komikku primarily has manga, it can be used for any “comic” regardless of reading direction. And with support for servers like “Read Comics Online”, there’s American and European comics available.

Komikku is not feature-laden and there’s definitely features we’d love to see added such as support for local archives, a wider range of online sources, reading history, and online synchronization.

The app stores the downloaded comics in ~/.var/app/info.febvre.Komikku/data. They are saved in jpg format.

There are many sophisticated comic book readers available that support local archives (which Komikku lacks). We’ve written a Group Test showcasing the best open source comic book viewers.
