The Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE) is the desktop environment of the Chinese Deepin Linux distribution. This custom interface is built atop common technologies, Qt/C++ and Golang. Qt is a cross-platform application framework and widget toolkit for creating classic and embedded graphical user interfaces, and applications.
DDE isn’t limited to Deepin. The desktop environment supports most Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, Arch Linux, and others.
Deepin is an easy to install and use Linux distribution designed to offer beautiful, safe and reliable system for global users. It’s based on Debian.
Features include:
- Attractive appearance with an elegant design.
- Good range of applications accompanies the environment including a text editor, multi-tab terminal, screen recorder, paint style drawing program, and a screenshot utility. The applications are tailored to regular users.
- Desktop interface and applications feature an intuitive and elegant design.
- Familiar style to macOS – the desktop is bare except for an OSX-style dock at the bottom where you can launch applications.
- Can mimic the appearance of Windows.
