alive – periodic ping

alive is a package that provides a command-line program to periodically make network contact with (aka “ping”) a specified host.

fping is a program to send ICMP echo probes to network hosts, similar to ping, but much better performing when pinging multiple hosts.

tcping is a terminal based network tool which is similar to ping. It can provide ASCII reports.

BWPing measures bandwidth and response times between two hosts using ICMP echo request/echo reply mechanism.
