Sailcut CAD is an open source sail design and plotting software. This application allows you to design and visualise your own sail and compute the accurate development of all panels in flat sheets. You can export the sails you create to DXF, plaintext or Carlson plotter files.
Sails can be either 4 sided sails like for old timer gaff rig or 3 sided sails like jibs or main sails for Marconi rig. Sailcut uses a unique mathematical definition of the surface of the sail which ensure that the sail profile is smooth and aerodynamic.
Sailcut CAD uses Qt as the graphics library.
Features include:

- Create a boat.
- Cross cut, twist foot cut, vertical cut, mitre cut and radial cut sail design as well as wing sails.
- Viewer where you can assembled a hull, a rig and a set of sails to see how they match.
- User interface is available in English, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Danish, and Russian.
