Mélodie – no frills music player

Last Updated on August 13, 2022

Summary

In many respects, Mélodie ticks all the boxes if you’re looking for a simple to use and visually beautiful music player even though memory usage is on the high side. The software works well, and is stable in usage. However, the absence of gapless playback prevents our recommendation.

If you want to help out the project, you could volunteer to provide translations. The interface is currently only available in English and French.

There are many awesome free and open source music players that offer gapless playback. We cover our favorites in this roundup.
