13. Java Structures by Duane A. Bailey
Java Structures is a free textbook developed to help faculty teach Data Structures (sometimes called CS2).
Java Structures develops a small package of container classes (the structure package), from the ground up, and in a principled manner. Over the years, many of the data structures developed in this package, have appeared in Sun’s Java development kits. Indeed, you will find that many of the structures that appear in this text have interfaces that are very similar to those found in Sun’s implementation. Java Structures is free for instructors and students to work and rework.
14. Java for Python Programmers by Brad Miller
This book assumes that you are already familiar with the Python programming language.
We will begin by looking at a very simple Java program, just to see what the language looks like and how we get a program to run. Next, we will look at the main constructs that are common to most programming languages.
The book moves on to features of Java including classes, interfaces, collections, graphical user interface programming, and generic programming.
