Emacs Kick – starter Emacs configuration for Vim and Neovim users

Emacs Kick is a starter configuration aimed particularly at people arriving from Vim or Neovim. It provides a familiar modal editing environment while introducing Emacs features and conventions gradually rather than expecting users to replace their existing workflow immediately.

It is positioned as a starting point rather than a complete Emacs distribution. Users can keep the supplied configuration, strip it down or use it as the foundation for a more personalised setup. Terminal use is treated as a first-class workflow, which makes the project especially approachable for users accustomed to editors running inside tmux or Zellij.

This is free and open source software.
