BudsLink is a graphical application for monitoring and controlling supported Bluetooth earbuds and headphones.
It communicates directly with devices from several manufacturers, providing a consistent interface for controls that would otherwise require a vendor’s mobile app.
This is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Shows separate battery levels for the left and right earbuds and charging case when the device reports them.
- Supports selected AirPods and Beats, Sony, Samsung Galaxy Buds, Google Pixel Buds, Nothing and CMF, Bose, Redmi and Xiaomi, Sennheiser, and Edifier models.
- Controls active noise cancellation, ambient or transparency mode and adaptive noise settings on compatible hardware.
- Provides conversation awareness controls, including an optional limit that automatically reduces media volume while conversation mode is active.
- Uses in-ear detection to pause playback when earbuds are removed, with configurable rules for resuming media.
- Offers device-specific controls for equalizers, gestures, touch or stem actions, voice notifications, automatic power-off and multipoint management where supported.
- Includes custom equalizer controls and, for compatible hardware, parametric equalization and other advanced sound settings.
- Lets users choose device and case icons to match their hardware.
- Can override the system light or dark appearance and select a libadwaita accent colour.
- Exposes device battery and control information through a D-Bus service for separate GNOME Shell, Plasma and Cinnamon companion integrations.
- Includes optional packet logging for diagnosing device communication and connection problems.
- Adapts its GTK 4 and libadwaita interface to narrow displays and supports keyboard, pointer and touch input.
