Vivaldi – web browser

Vivaldi is a no-charge web browser that is built on the Chromium platform, the same open-source code that powers Chrome. Vivaldi is targeted at advanced users who think more than just simplicity.

Vivaldi has a good feature set such as tab previews and the ability to move tabs to any corner of the browser window. Vivaldi’s sharp edges and flat design are also particularly good. Vivaldi borrows some basic Chrome features and Chrome extensions.

Vivaldi is built around and based on web technologies such as HTML5, Node.js, React.js, and a long list of NPM modules. Vivaldi has recently released an official beta, but there’s lots more work to come. I am especially looking forward to the promised mail client.

• Web Panels – window snapping for websites; view websites as a panel on the sidebar of your Vivaldi browser. Read news, follow conversations on social media, chat with your friends and much more, while using the main browser window separately. It is similar to the multitasking features in Windows 10 and iOS 9, but contained within a browser.
